Ghost Hunts at the Old Hall have proved over the years without a doubt this place is riffed with unexplained happenings. Gresley Old Hall has gained a reputation for being haunted due to the numerous reports of paranormal activity from guests and visitors. Many have claimed to have seen a ghostly apparition of a young girl in period clothing, believed to be the spirit of a maid who died in a fire at the location. Guests have also reported encountering a tall, angry male spirit who makes his presence felt, causing some to feel overwhelmed and refuse to return to some regions of the building. This is particularly true of one room located on the second floor. Visitors have also reported unusual sightings of dark shadows darting around doors and lurking in corners of the attic area, known to have poltergeist activity.

Located on the outskirts of Derbyshire, the remote village of Church Gresley is home to Old Gresley Hall. This unique building was constructed in the 16th century using the stone from the ancient monastery that once stood on the grounds. History Of Old Gresley Hall 

Gresley Hall was built in 1543 with stones from the priory, which once stood on the grounds dating to the 1100s. In 1795, Sir Nigel Bowyer Gresley of Drakelow Hall established an unsuccessful China factory and C.B Adderley of Hams Hall in part of the hall. In the early 1800s, Mr Nadin made common earthenware at the Hall and china items. In the late 1800s, it became a farmhouse tenanted to many families.

The current house has an array of floors, some of which have yet to be touched since the 19th Century, and in the topmost attics, Victorian signatures and artwork can still be seen on the walls.

A small country house built in various phases from the 1580s to c1710, formerly the seat of the Alleyne family. Later, it was a tenanted farmhouse before becoming a Miner's Welfare Centre in the 1950s. Around 1800, it was home to an unsuccessful China factory for a short period.
